Unlike common charging solutions, the Skycharge PLC-based charging system is specifically engineered to operate BVLOS.
How does it work?
When your drone lands on the charging platform, the spring-loaded contacts installed onto the drone landing gear make a physical electrical connection with the docking station. This connection is leveraged to establish a data link over the power line (PLC) between the charging system installed on the ground (the charging pad) and the onboard charging electronics installed on the drone.
Our PLC technology allows our charging systems to dynamically adapt the charging profile based on variable requirements, including battery SoC, health, temperature, and any other battery parameter and application need. The communication link between the charging pad and the drone is secure and immune to interference.
Scalable BVLOS charging via PLC data link
With the Skycharge PLC feature, you can treat each battery of your fleet individually, based on its specific SoC, battery health, residual battery life, and more, greatly improving battery lifetime and safety.
