Role Summary: We’re looking for a hands-on Mechatronic/System Engineer to lead and expand our hangar product line. This is a hybrid engineering and product owner role for someone who thrives in a small, dynamic, cross-functional team and wants to take full ownership of a critical product family.
You will contributo to managing the technical roadmap of hangars defining and tracking requirements, programming PLCs, coordinating developments, validating components, and supporting real-world deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, improvement, and scaling of Skycharge’s hangar systems.
Define technical requirements, track progress, and maintain detailed product documentation.
Program PLCs (Siemens or equivalent) for automation and system behavior.
Coordinate engineering tasks across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
Select and validate components for robustness, cost, and performance.
Ensure testing, certification, and system reliability across operational environments.
Support customer installations and integrations, ensuring fast, reliable service.
Align developments with drone charging and docking teams, ensuring full-system compatibility.
Contribute to the design and launch of new product variants in line with CaaS strategy.
Requirements:
Senior profile. Degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Systems Engineering and/or relevant background.
5+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary product development.
Strong PLC programming experience, preferably with Siemens or similar platforms.
Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of a product area.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, lean, startup environment with evolving priorities.
Skilled in technical documentation, prototyping, and integration workflows.
Nice to Have:
Background in drone systems, robotics, industrial automation.
Experience with CE certifications (management)
Familiarity with mission planner or backend software integration.
